چکیده

Heisenberg spin equation equivalence to nonlinear Schrödinger equation recently demonstrated by Rogers and Schief , is applied to the investigation of vortex filaments in magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) dynamos. The use of Gauss-Mainard-Codazzi equations allows us to investigate in detail the influence of curvature and torsion of vortex filaments in the MHD dynamos. This application follows closely previous applications to Heisenberg spin equation to the investigations in magnetohydrostatics given by Schief (Plasma Physics J.-2003).

General relativistic magnetic perturbations and dynamo effects in extragalactic radiosources

By making use of the MHD self-induction equation in general relativity (GR), recently derived by Clarkson and Marklund (2005), it is shown that when Friedmann universe possesses a spatial section whose Riemannian curvature is negative, the magnetic energy bounds computed by Nuñez (2002) also bounds the growth rate of the magnetic field given by the strain matrix of dynamo flow. Since in GR-MHD ...

Magnetohydrodynamic drift equations: from Langmuir circulations to magnetohydrodynamic dynamo?

We derive the closed system of averaged magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations for general oscillating flows. The used small parameter of our asymptotic theory is the dimensionless inverse frequency, and the leading term for a velocity field is chosen to be purely oscillating. The employed mathematical approach combines the twotiming method and the notion of a distinguished limit. The properties o...

Doubly Helical Coronal Ejections from Dynamos and their Role in Sustaining the Solar Cycle

Two questions about the solar magnetic field might be answered together once their connection is identified. The first is important for large scale dynamo theory: what prevents the magnetic backreaction forces from shutting down the dynamo cycle? The second question is: what determines the handedness of twist and writhe in magnetized coronal ejecta? Magnetic helicity conservation is important f...

Acceleration of Plasma Flows Due to Inverse Dynamo Mechanism

The ”inverse–dynamo” mechanism — the amplification/generation of fast plasma flows by short scale (turbulent) magnetic fields via magneto–fluid coupling is recognized and explored. It is shown that large–scale magnetic fields and flows are generated simultaneously and proportionately from short scale fields and flows. The stronger the short–scale driver, the stronger are the large–scale product...

Measurements of the MHD dynamo in the quasi-single-helicity reversed-field pinch.

The first experimental study of the MHD dynamo in a quasi-single-helicity (QSH) reversed-field pinch toroidal plasma is presented. In QSH plasmas, a dominant wave number appears in the velocity fluctuation spectrum. This velocity component extends throughout the plasma volume and couples with magnetic fluctuations to produce a significant MHD dynamo electric field. The narrowing of the velocity...
